Sam's bad luck continues at Bronson

Sam’s car was one of the fastest at the track on Friday night’s testing session. Qualifying went well but Sam had to go out late in the pack. After the clean up from some oil on the track, Sam became very cautious, so his time put him in 5th place with the same time as Rich Clouser. Dorer drew a #7, putting Cope on pole. This put Sam in the 3rd starting spot. Sam had to endure some heavy banging & bashing from #2 Curelli from behind, but didn't even put a bumper on the tail of Clouser.
Sam was running a brilliant race despite many restarts from wrecks. A restart on lap 73 backed the front runners up as Cope didn't accelerate as quick as he should have, so Sam braked to stay off Clouser’s rear, causing Sam to spin with the help of Curelli who drove over the top of Sam’s nose. Sam went into the pits for repair and afterwards came out for 1 lap but the car ran hot, ending another run for Sam & the VCR team. Sam was extremely upset, and after talking with Clouser after the race he was grateful that Sam had run him extremely clean. Unfortunately that didn’t happen to Sam. Sam’s next race is at New Smyrna. Sam got his first Goodyear win here last year, so come see Sam in action and cheer him to victory!
