Sam has great run in North Carolina

The #73 car of Lee and Michael Faulk

Sam headed up to North Carolina this past weekend to race at Hickory Motor Speedway. He tested on Friday and ran a short practice on Saturday before Saturday night’s event.
Sam had a slight problem during Qualifying when he braked too hard coming into one of the turns, which resulted in him taking 9th spot on the grid.
Sam’s patience shined from the very start of the race, as he gradually worked his way through the field. He was gaining on the front markers when a caution came out with about six laps to go. He passed one car on the restart, putting him into 5th. Then there was a green, white checkered and Sam passed another, putting him in 4th. There were not enough laps left for Sam to advance further, so he took the checkered flag in 4th place.
Sam did great at this track, considering he was in a car that he had never driven before, on a track that he had never raced before! The only thing familiar was the #73 on the doors. He had a great weekend and enjoyed working with the car’s owners, Lee and Michael Faulk.
Everyone was extremely happy with Sam’s effort and are all looking forward to next weekend’s action, where he will be running Ace Speedway on Friday night, and Hickory Motor Speedway again on Saturday night.
