Another great start ends in disappointment

Sam Watts Racing

Saturday night at New Smyrna was going to be fun. Sam’s car was fast—in the 2nd heat he started on pole and led every lap until the checkered. The main race proved to be a different story. Sam started on outside pole beside #84 of Matt Bowers. Both cars were side by side at the drop of the green flag, and it stayed this way through the first lap. However, #84 got a bit loose coming out of turn 4 on the first lap. He overcorrected and ended up putting Sam into the wall going into turn 1. Both cars were badly damaged, resulting in yet another bad night for Sam. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time—again.

Sam was mad after the race. There were some who were very quick to blame Sam for the incident, but after several viewings of the video it was determined that Sam was not at fault.

Both of Sam’s cars are now in need of repair. Fortunately for Sam no races are planned for a few weeks, so he has time to get them back together in time for the next race. He’ll be taking some time off for a little while, but keep checking back and we will let you know when he will be in action again.
