Problems cause Sam to sit out 1st race of season
The practice session on Friday night provided the backdrop for the unveiling of the new 73 car. The evening started out equally well, as Sam began putting down some really fast times. However, it wasn’t long before the car suddenly developed a power issue. It was brought to the pits after making some strange noises on the track. At first it was thought to be the motor, but after closer examination, the car was found to have an electrical problem.
Unfortunately, Sam wasn't able to run the new car, and didn't want to chance getting the other car wrecked. Sorry to all those fans who went out to see Sam race—but the good news is the electrical problems are being repaired at this time—so he will be back in action on Saturday night. Come cheer Sam on next Saturday night at New Smyrna!
