Another great finish for Sam at Tri-County
After the car was badly damaged in his last race at Hickory, Sam spent the next week testing before Friday’s event. Testing went well and all was set for the race. Sam qualified 4th fastest, but by an inversion put him on the pole. He started ahead of Tissott and Loden, but just a few laps into the race, Tissott got by Sam for the lead. Sam held 2nd until lap 25 when Loden passed him.
Sam took the checkered flag in 3rd. He was extremely happy, although he said that the car got very loose towards the end of the race. He will be racing again this Saturday night at Hickory, then he returns to New Smyrna, Florida on July 3rd to defend his Clyde Hart Memorial win from last year.
