Sam gets his first big win in N.C.

Sam qualified with the second fastest time, just behind teammate Chrissy Wallace, who drew a #2 pill putting Sam on pole. He settled down nicely early in the race, but Lee Tissot got by him on lap 10 after putting a lot of pressure on him. Tissot pulled away as Sam and Chrissy were battling for 2nd. Sam hung on, but eventually Andy Loden got by Chrissy for the 3rd spot. On lap 47 Tissot had mechanical problems, allowing Sam to take over the lead.
Sam took the Checkered flag side by side with Andy Loden. Sam won by a half a car’s length, with Loden taking 2nd and teammate Chrissy taking 3rd. This was Sam’s first win in North Carolina—a great achievement for him. He was extremely happy, but needs sponsors on his Ford fusion for the rest of the race season.
