The VCR late model car was going great on Saturday night at Columbia Motorsports
park. The #73 car qualified with the 2nd fastest time, placing Sam on outside
pole. From the drop of the green flag Sam was close on the tail of the #5 car
of Artuso. Russel #36 passed Sam, dropping him to 3rd spot, but
he remained
close
to
the leaders.
As
Sam went into lap 29, he lost all power and started to drop to the rear. The
pit crew called him in. After inspecting the car they determined that something
in the rear broke, so ending Sam's run for the night. The whole team
was fairly upset as the car performed really well during the day.
We had expected
to get a top 5 out of the race but unfortunately for Sam all of his close
running points competitors
finished the race, bumping them up in the points and dropping Sam down
to 5th place.
The race at Bronson this weekend
has been cancelled,so this now only leaves 2 more races
till the end of the season, with
the points really close. Watch out for Sam's next
race in Lakeland on the 22nd of October.
