Watts Finishes 7th in Season

Qualifying 12th out of 26 cars, Sam
started outside row 6. Having had a quiet first few
laps, Sam settled into the race nicely. Gradually he
picked off the cars in front of him one by one. The
leaders had taken off and Sam was at the end of the
2nd pack. At one point Sam got caught up into the oil
of the car in front of him and just managed to miss
the wall after spinning. After a few cautions and a
lot of patience on Sam's behalf, he made it into 6th
position, but on the last restart with 3 laps to go
he got a bit loose coming out of turn 2 and the car
of Rick Wilson happened to take over Sam's spot, leaving
him to finish an excellant 7th place. The car stayed
in 1 piece and we were able to drive it into the trailer
for our first race of the new season.
